The Craig Gallery at Alderney Landing is a public art gallery established in 1999 and programmed by a Volunteer Advisory Committee made up primarily of local professional Artists.
The Gallery presents approximately 24 exhibits a year including painting, printmaking, mixed media, and photography; fibre arts, sculpture, pottery, and Jewellery etc. 1 exhibit in the main Gallery area and 1 in the Craig Case Galleries display area every month.
The Craig Gallery dedicates a portion of their Exhibit time and space throughout each programming year to not-for-profit Arts Organizations and Community Groups. All proceeds from sales in these Exhibits and events go directly to the organizations to support their programming. The Canadian Mental Health Organization hosts its Annual Mosaic for Mental Health in The Craig each year and has done so for 20 years. The Dartmouth Visual Arts Society, Visual Arts Nova Scotia and Arts Groups such as ArtFocus and Vile Passéist Theatre have also benefited from use of our Gallery at no expense to their organizations.
As a not-for-profit Community Art Space, The Craig Gallery relies on a group of volunteers who act as gallery sitters, attend functions, and participate in ongoing exhibits throughout the year. If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer, please email [email protected] or phone The Gallery coordinator, Kahn Yuan at 902-461-4698.
