Week #1
[Art Camp]
Fantastical Forms

July 4th – 8th

Ages 7-13

This fine art camp is for anyone interested in fantasy, the imagination and interpreting human features! Do you love to create mystical beings but are unsure of how to draw certain details or how to bring your creature creations to life? In this camp we’ll learn new ways of making fantasy creatures using the human body and a range of materials!

We will explore expressive portraits, plaster mold making of our hands, learn how to create fantastical beings using our own facial features/environment and so much more! At the end of the week we will host a Fantasy Fair where your favorite creations from the week will be on display! Dressing up as your favorite or own made up fantastical being for the event is encouraged!

Week #2
[Art Camp]
Art World - Art Outside Your Door

July 11th – 15th

Ages 7 – 13

Can you believe that art is everywhere and it is waiting just outside your doorstep? In this fine art camp we will focus on creating art that is based on observing and interpreting the world around us.

Dartmouth is a unique place that is a blend of urban, nature and ocean and we want to use the nature and urban spaces we have at our doorstep to create art. Using uncommon materials and methods we will create wearable art, learn more about public art, try plant pressing, paper dyeing, nature based art and large scale sculpture creation with recyclable materials! We will also be making our own sketchbooks that we can take on the go, to help record ideas and observations we make when experiencing art beyond your front door!

At the end of the week we will use what we have learned in other projects to create a multi media mural that will be shown at Alderney Landing.
