July 2 - 5 (Art Camp)
In this art camp children will explore the music, dances and artistic expressions of the 1812 era in Nova Scotia. Activities will include the creation of a parade of costumes, sculptures, art andlive music.
Privateers, Sea Captains and Heroes
July 8 - 12 (Theatre Camp)
The kids will recreate an exciting ocean battle scene involving many of Nova Scotia's most notorious characters of 1812! This ever popular camp explores all you need to act, direct, sing and dance your way to stardom! Play fun activities and games and perform skits while preparing for the final performance on Friday afternoon. Guests are welcome to attend the final performance.
Haunted Shipwrecks of 1812
July 15 - 19 (Art Camp)
Do you dare create a Haunted Shipwreck? Join instructor Julie Adamson Miller and storyteller Cindy Campbell to create larger than life “Haunted Shipwrecks” based on the battle ships that visited Halifax Harbour in 1812. Once created, the sculptures will be on display outside at Alderney Landing during the Bluenose Ghost Festival in October!
Forts, Teepees & Lean-tos!
July 22 - 26 (Theatre Camp)
Through the magic of theatre, the kids will explore how the soldiers of 1812 survived extreme Canadian conditions with help from many indigenous cultures. This ever popular camp explores all you need to act, direct, sing and dance your way to stardom! Play fun activities and games and perform skits while preparing for the final performance on Friday afternoon. Guests are welcome to attend the final performance.
